Our Story
It started because of one clinic. It stayed because of the others.
In 2020, two very different paths crossed with one shared goal. On one side, software engineering with years of enterprise experience. On the other, Sónia Vaz Cardoso, who ran the operation at Athletika, a physiotherapy clinic — endless spreadsheets, missed bookings, client records on paper.
The initial idea was simple: replace the chaos with something that actually worked. The software was born inside a real clinic, with the person running it every day saying what was missing — and Sónia is today one of Appointmint's founders. It quickly became clear that the problem was much bigger, and that there were hundreds of businesses with the same difficulties.
Since then we have grown by talking to the people who use it. Many of the features that exist today were asked for by a customer. Athletika is still with us, six years on — and to this day no clinic has left us for a competitor.

Meta approved us as a Tech Provider. That is why your clinic can connect its own WhatsApp Business number through us.
Our customers' invoices are issued by software certified by the Portuguese tax authority, no. 2230/AT.
Payments are processed by EasyPay, an institution authorised by Banco de Portugal, special registration no. 8706.
