Appointmint vs DOC.pt

DOC — Digital Operations for Clinics — is clinic operations software: calendar, online booking, team, records, reminders and statistics. It is a direct competitor. The big difference in their favour is commercial: unlimited SMS and email advertised in the plans, and a cheaper invoicing module. The big difference against them is also commercial: the same official page shows price tables and trial lengths that do not agree with each other.

Product against product for outpatient and therapy clinics. It stops being an equivalent comparison if your decision requires prescribing or hospital integration.

Where DOC.pt is stronger than us

  • SMS and email advertised as unlimited in the plans. We sell messages in bundles: in a clinic that sends a lot, that is a real advantage of theirs — provided you get the fair-use policy in writing.
  • An invoicing module that is nominally cheaper than ours.
  • Invoice payment links through DocPay, built on Stripe, and prepayments.

Where Appointmint is stronger

  • AI that exists today, with a published price, rather than announced for later.
  • Depth on the record: configurable fields, forms, surveys, consents and clinical reports from templates, with the Scriber drafting the session. There is no public detail on DOC's clinical depth.
  • Packages with an automatic balance, subscriptions, direct debits, payment links and protocol pricing — running the money, not only issuing the invoice.
  • Ready-made integrations — Google Calendar, Google Reviews, GoHighLevel, MailerLite, webhooks and an API — where DOC's own FAQ says it has no automatic link to accounting software.
  • Client check-in in kiosk mode, waiting lists, group classes with places, and granular permissions per module.
  • One price table that means what it says. Theirs shows two models at once and two different trial lengths, which makes asking the only way to find out what it costs.

Simple software on the outside, but with a huge impact on profitability.

When DOC.pt is the right choice

An outpatient clinic whose biggest cost is message volume, and which prefers a bundle with SMS and email not counted per message — after confirming in writing which table is actually in force.

When we are the right choice

Anyone who wants to know the final price without asking, and who needs communication to be automatic and tied to what happens in the calendar, not just reminders.

Frequently asked questions

Does DOC.pt really have unlimited SMS and email?+

That is what the published plans advertise. What is not public is the fair-use policy behind the word "unlimited", and that is what decides the real bill. Ask for it in writing before comparing it with our bundle pricing.

Why do you say DOC's prices contradict each other?+

Because on the day we read it, the same official page showed two pricing models at once and two different trial lengths. We are not saying it is expensive or cheap — we are saying it cannot be known, and that you should require a dated quote before deciding.

Which is better for physiotherapy?+

Both will do. The useful question is a different one: do you need packages with automatic balances, protocol-based pricing, rooms and practitioner commissions at month end? Test that specific workflow in both, with real data, before looking at price.

Is Appointmint an alternative to DOC.pt?+

It is: the two do the same job and compete for the same clinics — the differences are in the rows above. If you do switch, data migration is free and we do it, not you: tell us what has to come across — clients, appointments, history, packages, invoicing — and before we start we will tell you what we can bring and what we cannot.

A note on method

This analysis was carried out by an artificial intelligence agent, under explicit instructions to be impartial, to cite only public sources, and to record what it could not confirm rather than filling it in with something plausible. It was then reviewed by us, and whatever is said here about Appointmint has to hold up in the product.

The research closed on 12 September 2026. Products change and so do prices — always confirm with the vendor before deciding.
